The Jacksonville Landing Visitor Center wraps up National Tourism week on Friday from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. with a celebration in the center, located on the lower level of The Jacksonville Landing. Enjoy samples from Edible Arrangements, give-aways and more!
While you are at The Jacksonville Landing you can visit The Faces of the Port exhibit in room 121.
The Faces of the Port photography exhibit, by Joella Davis, is a black-and-white study of workers at Jacksonville's bustling port, one of the city's largest job engines. While most Jacksonville residents identify the port in terms of large ships, cranes and equipment, a closer inspection reveals that nearly 7,000 people work in and around facilities owned by the Jacksonville Port Authority (JAXPORT). Another 38,000 workers hold indirect jobs reliant on Jacksonville's port, one of the largest and busiest on the U.S. East Coast. All port workers live in Northeast Florida.

National Tourism Week
National Tourism Week is a designated time period which recognizes travel and hospitality employees and educates local residents on the value of tourism to their community, both from an economic standpoint and in their quality of life. Jacksonville and other destinations around the country will focus on this year's theme, "Discover Great American Traditions." The theme encourages travel to American locales and highlights the role that tourism plays in discovering the icons of a destination.
