The Jacksonville Jazz Festival returns Memorial Day Weekend 2014! Top Jazz performers will play on four different stages in the heart of Downtown Jacksonville.
The 2014 Jacksonville Jazz Festival returns Memorial Day Weekend, May 22-25, 2014 in the heart of Downtown Jacksonville. The new Jacksonville Jazz Festival event footprint will include stages along Bay Street, one near Marsh Street and the Shipyards, another near Newnan Street, and at the Jacksonville Landing.
This FREE festival will transform into a vibrant setting with multiple entertainment stages and other components! Michael O'Connell is an artist living in Clearwater, Florida originally from Johnson City, NY. Having graduated from the Tampa Tech School Of Art and Design, Michael has over 25 years of experience in the design field and currently works for Sharpline Converting, the country's leader of vinyl graphics.
He started his professional career as an airbrush artist for Tampa's Busch Gardens. His designs and logos can be seen through out Florida and the Tampa Bay area. Also a self-taught contemporary painter, his mixed works combine bold use of colors and imagery to make his paintings both versatile and memorable at the same time.
His works have been featured by the Tampa Bay Lightning's Celebration Of The Arts, Perdido Key Wine Festival, Blissfest Music Festival and the National CIAA Basketball Tournament to name a few.

Jacksonville Jazz Piano Competition
The Florida Theatre
Now is your time to step into the spotlight! Apply now for the 2014 Jacksonville Jazz Piano Competition. The Jacksonville Jazz Piano Competition, presented by the City of Jacksonville and Keyboard Connection Pianos & Organs, has been a tradition for more than 30 years. Five finalists, chosen by a selection committee through "blind" judging, will compete for the honor of this award, a cash prize and the chance to perform on the Main Stage during the Jacksonville Jazz Festival.
Jazz After Dark
Friday, May 23 - Sunday, May 25
10 p.m. - 2 a.m.
The City of Jacksonville will bring to you “Jazz after Dark”. Following the last act of the festival lineup each night, May 23-25, enjoy even more live Jazz from 10 p.m. till 2 a.m. Participating bars and clubs are located within a couple of blocks from the Jazz Fest stages and admission is free!
2014 JJF "Off Jazz" Concert
The Florida Theatre
Doors open at 6 p.m., show starts 7 p.m.
Back this year, the City of Jacksonville will bring to you the second annual "Off Jazz" Concert. Start your festival weekend on Friday, May 23. The artist will be announced soon! Tickets will be available at The Florida Theatre Box Office or at www. ticketmaster.com. The Florida Theatre Box Office is open daily from 9 a.m. – 5 p.m., Monday – Friday.
Youth Jazz Talent Showcase
Jacksonville Jazz Festival is a pleased to bring the Youth Jazz Talent Showcase, a live talent competition open to young jazz singers and musicians. The winner will receive a cash prize to be used expressly for the purpose of furthering his or her musical education. Finalists will perform at the Jacksonville Jazz Festival on Saturday, May 24. Winners will be selected by a panel of music adjudicators who specialize in the arts forms of traditional and contemporary jazz and blues. Trophies will be awarded to 1st-3rd place winners. Applicants must be between the ages of 7 and 21.
Sunday Jazz Brunch
Enjoy the softer sounds of jazz as you indulge in a delicious brunch.
