A Ride to the Southside

Start your day on the Southside at the St. Johns Town Center, a unique outdoor mall offering 1.1 million square feet of unique shopping and dining, Shop ‘til you drop at Anthropologie, Urban Outfitters, Louis Vuitton Marciano and a number of other shops and boutiques you won't find anywhere else in Jacksonville. When you're done shopping, relax and enjoy the Village Park Green, drop a coin into the koi pond or have lunch at one of the fine restaurants such as P.F. Chang's, The Capital Grille, Maggiano's Little Italy or Cantina Laredo.

After shopping, take a break for some Southside fun. Kids of all ages will get a kick out of Dave and Busters, a restaurant, bar and entertainment complex with the "Million Dollar Midway," featuring more than 200 interactive video games, including dueling racecars.  If you are looking for some southern hospitality, head over to Whisky River. Owned by NASCAR legend Dale Earnhardt, Jr., Whisky River is renowned for its appetizing menu and spontaneous atmosphere. When the sun goes down, Whiskey River heats up with live music, a DJ and hand-crafted cocktails.

Enjoy fine dining and a fantastic show at Alhambra Dinner Theatre, the oldest dinner theatre in the country. The theatre has been producing Broadway-quality performances for the whole family, such as The Wizard of Oz, The King and I, Grease and Fiddler on the Roof. A new menu, with food service directed by award-winning chef, Matthew Medure, features selections including Braised Beef Short Ribs, Miso Glazed Chicken Thighs and Seafood Newburg. Nationally-known treasure, Betty Grable, performed her final stage production at the Alhambra in 1973.
