Overview

The Ritz Theatre & LaVilla Museum is a newly constructed theatre and museum in the historical LaVilla area of downtown Jacksonville. The beautifully designed facility houses a 400-seat theatre. A museum gallery presents traveling exhibits from notable institutions and collections as well as exhbits of local origin. A permanent history exhibit - "Crossroads: African American Heritage of Northeast Florida," traces this community's history from the early explorers , through the golden era of the mid 1900s to the dawn of the Civil Rights movement. Multifaceted arrays of cultural activities, concerts and special events are presented yearly on the theatre stage.
