Jacksonville. Where Florida Begins.

Family Fun Itinerary

Whether children are vacationing with their parents or taking a multigenerational trip - Jacksonville provides endless amounts of fun for kids of all ages.

Start off your morning with plenty of fun at Adventure Landing - Jacksonville Beach. Challenge the family to a round of mini-golf or take to the pavement on Adventure Speedway on go-karts. And don't forget your bathing suit for fun at Shipwreck Island, an interactive waterpark, featuring a 65-foot tall pirate play village complete with 12 slides and over 200 nozzles that can spray, squirt and surprise precocious guests. The park features three major water rides: the Hydro Half Pipe, the Rage and the new Eye of the Storm.

Ready for lunch? Stop by Sticky Fingers, a casual restaurant featuring Memphis-style, hickory-smoked ribs, chicken and pulled pork barbecue. Kids will enjoy getting their hands dirty eating a mighty helping of delicious ribs and Southern food.

Next, stop by the Beaches Museum & History Center at Pablo Historical Park and take a step back in time to learn the history of the region's beaches. Check out the restored railroad section foreman's house, the 1903 post office and the railroad memorabilia museum.  Be sure you don't miss Locomotive #7.

For an afternoon snack, stop by Rita's Italian Ice and try one of the more than 30 different flavors of ice; in addition to cones, shakes and other cool stuff. It's the perfect way to cool off from a fun day at the beach!

Before hitting the sand at the beach, stop back by you oceanfront hotel and pick up your beach accessories from Rent Beach Stuff - providing everything you need for a day of fun!  Rentals include beach chairs, boogie boards, surfboards, sand castle equipment and even beach blankets and baby playpens! No need packing up all your equipment from home - Rent Beach Stuff delivers for free.

For dinner, treat the kids to a fun, oceanfront dining experience at Joe's Crab Shack. With a seafood menu filled with crab legs, fresh fish and shrimp - this great atmosphere is perfect for families. Kids will enjoy the music-filled dining room with servers dancing and singing throughout the night.  If you're lucky - maybe you'll be asked to join in on the dancing!

After dinner, stroll down the beach to the Jacksonville Beach Fishing Pier. At 1,300 feet, the new pier features a 20-foot wide wooden deck and is a great spot for kids to watch the fisherman reel in their latest catches! Besides all of the great fishing, the pier also provides a great view of Jacksonville Beach.
