A message from your President, Bobbie Hunt
August 2009
The summer months are waning and all too soon we will be into the autumn mode of kids going to school, leaves changing colors, and weather getting cooler. Hopefully you have had a good summer. This summer brought a visitor to our neighborhood, an eagle. In the 23 years we have lived here we have never seen an eagle. This beautiful, majestic bird seemed to appear just as I truly needed to be lifted up. The words of the song "On Eagle's Wings" came to mind, "And he will raise you up on eagle's wings, bear you on the breath of dawn, make you to shine like the sun, and hold you in the palm of his hand." God truly does hold us in the palm of His hand. We can go to Him with all our troubles, concerns, petitions and gratitude.
Bylaws
The proposed NCCW bylaws were mailed to affiliate presidents and individual members on July 24th. They are also posted on the NCCW website, http://www.nccw.org/. All convention attendees should bring a copy with them as copies will not be included in the registration bags.
Message from NCCW Vice Presidents
Check out the NCCW website and you will see messages from the three candidates running for the office of NCCW President. See what they have to say and come to convention prepared to listen to statements and ask questions at the Meet the Candidates night...
Voting Change
We are introducing a new and more modern way to cast your ballot at this convention. We are working with Votenet, a worldwide leader in web-based voting, and we will be using their online, web-based system. The voting procedure will be explained twice before elections begin and there will be people available to help if there are any problems.
Convention Registration
Early Bird registration has passed. The current rate is $365.00. All voting delegates are full-time registrants. Remember that those registered for only one-day of the convention cannot vote in the election. Individual member delegate registrations are non-transferable.
Silent Auction
Please remember to mail your Silent Auction item before August 25th. It's always fun to see some of the creative ideas you ladies come up with. A Silent Auction Fact Sheet is attached for your information.
