Welcome to Jacksonville!

May 7-10, 2009

TPC Sawgrass, Ponte Vedra Beach

It's one of golf's biggest events and it's played annually on the coastline of Northeast Florida at the famed Stadium Course at TPC Sawgrass.  The lush, green rolling hills and steep inclines offer spectacular views of each hole.  The tournament begins on Monday with practice rounds.  Thursday, the competition heats up as Round 1 of tournament play begins, concluding Sunday with fans gathering around the 18th hole to see who will take home the crystal trophy.

THE PLAYERS Benefit for the Arts:  Celebrate! An Evening of Music and Moonlight
A benefit for the Cultural Center at Ponte Vedra Beach & the Jacksonville Symphony Orchestra

PGA TOUR Commissioner Tim Finchem invites First Coast residents to the second PLAYERS Benefit for the Arts, which features dinner and an outdoor concert. TOUR professional Jim Furyk and his wife Tabitha will again serve as co-chairs of this fundraising event. Money raised will support arts and music programs provided by the Cultural Center at Ponte Vedra Beach and the Jacksonville Symphony Orchestra. Last year's inaugural event raised $183,000 for these two organizations.
Tickets for outdoor seating, buffet dinner and concert are $100 per person. Tickets for cocktails and dinner in the clubhouse followed by the concert are $250 per person. Guests dining inside the clubhouse will also enjoy a silent auction with exciting offerings such as "a year of golf balls," a Tiffany & Co. bracelet and a weekend at The Ritz-Carlton at Amelia Island. Guests dining in the Ponte Vedra Room will also enjoy a live auction featuring a one-year TPC Sawgrass membership, use of a luxury suite at a Jaguars game, a PGA TOUR pro-am spot in Hawaii and a catered yacht river cruise for 10 couples.
