All of my childhood summer memories came flooding back as I spent a few hours on an Art Bike adventure with Art Bikes Jax.
I spent a quiet afternoon cruising through narrow streets lined with massive trees and the breeze hitting my face as we rode along the water - enjoying the sights of the Avondale area was a fantastic way to start the summer!
At Art Bikes Jax, you can choose between taking a 3-hour self-guided art tour around Avondale and through Riverside and downtown or a 90-minute self-guided tour leading into a picnic lunch at a scenic park in the Avondale or Riverside area.
All you have to do is pick up your custom electric bike from the Avondale location of
and set off on a unique ride through this historic area of Jacksonville.

Riding an electric bike is certainly a unique experience that is quite different from riding a regular bike. It took a second to get in the habit of using the throttle accelerator to gain momentum back after each stop, but after that, zooming through the streets of Avondale was amazing. Not only is this a breathtaking ride through areas with water views, trees and parks, but the electric bikes are all also beautifully decorated by local artists, making the ride even more unique.
In the end, the destination was just as peaceful as the ride. We stopped at Stinson Park and enjoyed a picnic lunch with the blue water to our right, and the Ortega Bridge and the downtown skyline to our left.
I only was able to do the Art Bikes lunch and picnic ride so I will definitely be back to do the self-guided art tour!
