Bachelor Weekend Itinerary
She said yes! Now get ready for your Bachelor Bash in Jacksonville. Make it a weekend to remember with some brews before the “I dos,” endless rounds of golf or even a surfing lesson.
With so much to see and do, this itinerary will guide you through a weekend packed full of some of the best experiences Jacksonville has to offer before you tie the knot.
Day One:
Afternoon
- If you are planning to fly into Jacksonville, make sure to take advantage of the direct flights into Jacksonville International Airport, including flights from New York City, Los Angeles, Chicago, Charlotte and more.
- Jacksonville is full of great hotels to stay at during your weekend getaway with your groomsmen. Check into Element Jacksonville Beach, which is walking distance from Jacksonville’s beautiful beaches. If you are in town for a sporting event, there are many great hotels Downtown like the Hyatt Regency Jacksonville Riverfront, Marriott Jacksonville Downtown and more.
- Once you are checked in and settled, take a short drive over to Angie’s Subs for lunch. Angie’s has some of the best subs and sweet tea in town. You can either eat in the restaurant and enjoy their funky décor or take it to go and enjoy it at the beach.
- Jacksonville Beach has several public beach accesses, but if you head back to Element, the Jacksonville Beach Pier is just a short walk away.
- Spend time soaking up the Florida sun on Jacksonville’s beautiful beaches or fishing off the Jacksonville Beach Pier. If you plan to fish, you will need a fishing license. They can be purchased from the Florida Fish and Wildlife Commission online or at select sporting goods stores. You will also need a saltwater fishing license to catch crabs and lobsters.
Night
- Head back to the hotel and get ready for a night out!
- Eat dinner at Taco Lu, a local favorite known for fish tacos and a selection of over 125 tequilas. Try the Carne Royal while you’re there!
- After dinner, hit up some of the breweries on the Jax Ale Trail. Breweries local to Jax Beach include Green Room Brewing, Engine 15 Brewing Company, Ink Factory and Southern Swells. Make sure to snag an Ale Trail Passport to claim prizes!
- For some nightlife, Jacksonville Beach has many watering holes within walking distance to one another, from Irish pubs and pulsing dance clubs to the swanky Penthouse Lounge at Casa Marina Hotel & Restaurant with sweeping views of the ocean.
Day Two
Morning
- Get up and get ready to start the day off the right way, with mimosas! Have bunch at Jax Beach Brunch Haus. Located in Jacksonville Beach, this spot serves a wide variety of brunch plates as well as a full bar with specialty brunch cocktails. The Brunch Haus is open daily from 7 am to 2:30 pm.
- If your group is feeling adventurous, book surfing lessons for the morning with Jacksonville Surf and Paddle.
- If you want to stay dry, then do some indoor rock climbing at Beaches Rock Gym.
Afternoon
- Head over the Jacksonville's Southside neighborhood and have lunch at Culhane's Irish Pub - an upbeat Irish pub. You’ll go for the drinks, but you will keep coming back for its iconic stew.
- After lunch, take a short drive over to the St. Johns Town Center. Practice for tomorrow's round of golf and participate in some friendly competition with your buddies at TopGolf. Enjoy climate-controlled hitting bays for year-round comfort with HDTVs in every bay, plus a sports bar and restaurant.
- If you are feeling extra adventurous, after TopGolf, head next door to iFly, an indoor skydiving facility.
Night
- Travel across town to Jacksonville’s historic Riverside Avondale neighborhood.
- Experience nostalgia at Keg & Coin. Play the best arcade games from the 80s and 90s while trying craft beer on one of their 15 rotating taps or from the cooler.
- Head back over to Park Street and eat dinner at Hoptinger. Hoptinger is a modern “Bavarian” bier garden. They have more than 60 taps devoted to carefully selected craft beer along with a full liquor bar. They offer a unique menu of creative sausage dogs and other loosely Bavarian-inspired gastro pub food.
- Once you are finished eating downstairs, you can head upstairs to Hoptinger’s rooftop bar for a bit of nightlife.
- Some other nightlife experiences in the area include socializing at Birdies, unbeatable rooftop views at River and Post and a silent disco at Root Down.
Afternoon - GAMEDAY ADDITION
*Jacksonville is home to many sports teams including the Jacksonville Jaguars, the Jacksonville Jumbo Shrimp and the Jacksonville Icemen. Make sure to keep an eye on their schedules and if you happen to be in town during one of their home games, try to work them into your weekend itinerary!
- Following breakfast, get ready to spend a day Downtown.
- Worried about getting around? While Uber is always an option. There are many ways to get around town while you are here.
- If you want to grab a bite to eat before the game, you’ll be sure to enjoy a great meal at some of Downtown’s local restaurants like Bellwether, Indochine, Burrito Gallery, Cowford Chophouse, Morton's The Steakhouse, Bread & Board or Bread & Burger; or grab a whisky sour at The Volstead.
- Grab a beer before the game at Intuition Ale Works. Make sure to get your passport stamped!
- Enjoy the game!
Day Three
Morning
- Wake up and eat breakfast at Metro Diner. After its first location opened in Jacksonville, Metro quickly expanded and now has over 50 locations nationwide. Known for their chicken and waffles, Metro serves a full brunch menu with a family friendly atmosphere, and kids love their cinnamon roll pancakes. Guy Fieri of Diners, Drive-Ins, and Dives even gives Metro Diner his seal of approval. Make sure to fill up, we have a busy day ahead!
- Up for a round of golf? Jacksonville and its surrounding areas boast world-class golf courses for every level of play in beautiful ocean-side and riverfront settings.
Afternoon
- Head up to Jacksonville’s Northside.
- Book a tour Coastal Kayak Tour with Amelia Adventures. They offer a true coastal kayaking excursion that takes you across the Nassau Sound, past the shorelines of Big and Little Talbot Islands, Blackrock and Boneyard Beaches, in addition to tidal marsh kayaking past Bird Island through Simpson Creek.
- While in this area, enjoy fishing off of The Nassau Sound Fishing Bridge. Catch whiting, jack, drum, and tarpon at one of the best fishing spots in Northeast Florida. This mile-long fishing bridge spans Nassau Sound. Enter through Amelia Island State Park to enjoy this location.
- Did you even visit Jacksonville if you didn’t try the Mayport Shrimp? Eat lunch at local Northside favorites including The Sandollar Restaurant and Palms Fish Camp to try the locally caught Mayport shrimp there!
Night
- For your last night in Jax, head over to Atlantic Beach and spend Happy Hour at Lemon Bar, a local favorite. This beachfront bar offers amazing waterfront views, great cocktails and good times! Don’t forget to take a group photo in front of the ‘Welcome to Neptune Beach’ mural on the outside of Lemon Bar.
- For dinner, walk over to The Local (the Neptune Beach location). The Local features a wide variety of dishes inspired by the neighborhoods of Northeast Florida. Make sure to try one of their specialty craft cocktails!
- Some nightlife in the area includes Pete’s Bar and Ragtime. You can also take a cruise down A1A to find many additional bars and restaurants with live music and drink specials throughout the beach communities.
- Head back to the hotel for the evening and have a safe trip home!
