Now let’s get down to business, yes we have beauty, tranquility and the great outdoors in Jacksonville, but what you really want to hear about is…SOUTHERN COMFORT FOOD.

Jax is home to some true “Southern” grub. If you enjoy that rustic southern cooking and atmosphere, you’ve come to the right place! Try a creek-side fish camp named Clark’s Fish Camp located off Julington Creek where you will be greeted by one of the largest privately owned collections of taxidermy in the U.S.  The menu is definitely wild! If BBQ is more your speed try Mojo’s or a real local favorite Checker’s BBQ & Seafood.

You can’t leave without trying the fried chicken and buttermilk biscuits from Beach Road Chicken Dinners, Potter’s House or Metro Diner (scratch the biscuits they whip up waffles). Truth be told, because us G.R.I.T.S. never tell a lie, Beach Road Chicken Dinners is one of my favorites, try the cream peas (hey now, don’t knock em’ until you try em’). If you want to be real daring...dip a french fry into the gravy- it’s no different than mashed potatoes and gravy!

If you ever need a recommendation shoot me over an email, we are always happy when you leave with a full tummy! Enjoy!
