With great weather and even better facilities, athletes can travel to the Bold City and experience healthy competition and the hospitality found #onlyinjax.
With significant economic impact, sport tourism events translate into millions back into the community. There are many exciting developments underway with even more on the horizon.
The Jacksonville Icemen and the City of Jacksonville are teaming up to renovate San Marco’s Jacksonville Ice and Sportsplex. The multi-million-dollar investment will be renamed the Icemen Igloo and aims to be a premier ice-skating facility. Two NHL regulation rinks will be featured along with a sports restaurant with ice-side views. This family-friendly, dynamic attraction will appeal to youth ice sports and out-of-town tournaments and athletes. The plans include a 12-month construction and anticipated opening of August 2022.
The University of North Florida Hodges Stadium is no stranger to major track and field events, including the US Junior Olympics. Visitors coming to run the track will thoroughly enjoy the recently resurfaced and renamed Visit Jax Track. The navy-blue track will serve as a crown jewel in the sports tourism industry of Jax for years to come.
We can’t wait to extend a warm welcome to Jax! For more information about sports facilities in jax please visit https://www.visitjacksonville.com/things-to-do/sports/
