Three Great Cocktails For a Day on the Water

Situated near the mouth of the St. Johns River on Heckscher Drive, the iconic Sandollar Restaurant and Marina is a relaxing spot to grab a drink and watch the bustling working waterfront. A local favorite is the Sandollar Punch, a fruity blend of Cruzan Rums including pineapple, mango, dark and light rum finished with fresh orange, pineapple, and cranberry juice. There is free dockage onsite for boats up to 50 feet.

Nipper’s Beach Grille sits in the heart of Beach Marine on the Intracoastal Waterway in Jacksonville Beach. If you are on the water celebrating Sunday Funday, this waterfront grill boasts the Almost Famous Bloody Mary Bar. Patrons receive a glass of vodka on ice and then can build their own Bloody Mary from a host of fixings, including spicy green beans, onion pearls, olives, celery straws, and a variety of hot peppers. The restaurant offers free dockage seven days a week.

The Salty Pelican Bar and Grill is literally a stone’s throw away from the Fernandina Harbor Marina in downtown Fernandina Beach. The rustic local hangout boasts one of the best sunset vistas on the First Coast. Soak in the view with a Broken Flip Flop, a cocktail blend of Naked Turtle Rum, orange and pineapple juice, topped with a dark rum floater. Dock at the marina in downtown Fernandina and stroll over to Front Street for an island cocktail and colorful conversation.
