Jacksonville Symphony

Jacksonville Symphony

The Jacksonville Symphony ranks among the nation’s top regional orchestras and is vital to the City of Jacksonville’s continued growth. From September through May, the Jacksonville Symphony performs in at the Times-Union Center for the Performing Arts and in community venues throughout the First Coast and statewide. This year marks the first full year for new Music Director Courtney Lewis and President/CEO Robert Massey. Also in the 2015-16 season, the Symphony will be hosting The Hot Sardines and staging performances of notable classics like Mozart's Great Mass and Bruckner's Sixth Symphony.

An American orchestra with its own dedicated concert hall, the Jacksonville Symphony's home is the acoustically superb Robert E. Jacoby Symphony Hall. As reported by the Palm Beach Daily News, "… we surely deserve and need to have a full time orchestra [in south Florida]. We can only hope that it would be as good as the Jacksonville Symphony."

Beyond the stage, the Jacksonville Symphony is an outstanding community partner, serving four county school districts and collaborating with a wide range of arts/culture and business organizations. The Symphony also provides volunteer opportunities for nearly 2,000 music lovers annually.
