Rachmaninoff’s Second Concerto

The Jacksonville Symphony tackles Rachmaninoff's iconic Second Piano Concerto in what is certain to be a thrilling performance by returning pianist Joyce Yang. Known for its virtuosic piano passages, the concerto unfolds with famous tunes that have been used in pop, film and the spectrum of genres between. For the first of several world premieres this season, Brittany J. Green’s fresh and uncharted melodies come alive, complemented by Strauss' A Hero's Life that spotlights violin solos by Concertmaster Adelya Nartadjieva.
