Jacksonville, Florida - The Big Trouble will perform at the University of North Florida on Tuesday, January 15th at 7:30 PM in Andrew R. Robinson Theater. Admission is free.

The Big Trouble is a percussion/songwriting collective featuring award-winning composers Ivan Trevino, Andrew Worden, and singer-songwriter, Madeleine McQueen. A recipient of an Artist Grant by the Boston Foundation in 2017, The Big Trouble creates percussion + vox + rock music, showcasing percussion instruments with vocals in an indie-rock setting. The group released its debut album in 2017, accompanied by two politically charged music videos “Red White Blue Orange” and “Echo Chamber.” The concert will be unique in that The Big Trouble will be joined onstage by members of the University of North Florida Percussion Ensemble.

The UNF Percussion Ensemble is directed by renowned percussionist Andrea Venet. The ensemble is an integral part of the University of North Florida’s School of Music, showcasing world premieres and performing classical and contemporary percussion ensembles. UNFP has performed throughout Florida and most recently won 5th place at the Percussive Arts Society National Chamber Ensemble Competition. The ensemble has performed with various guest artists, including SNL percussionist Valerie Naranjo, and members are excited to perform with The Big Trouble. UNF student Jeff Upshaw says, “I am excited to have the opportunity to perform alongside such accomplished composers and musicians, especially in such a unique genre.”
