Nestled between skyscrapers and the St. Johns River, Downtown Jacksonville’s north and south banks have an urban vibe with a cool atmosphere. Downtown Jacksonville boasts 5.6 miles of beautiful riverfront, including almost 3 miles of riverwalk, perfect for a stroll or a jog by the river or even one of our famous skyline photographs.

Things To Do

A little science and history courtesy of the Museum of Science & History, is a great way to start your morning. Located on Jacksonville's Downtown Southbank, this interactive museum, known as MOSH to the locals, features the area's only planetarium and a Northeast Florida history display called Currents of Time. Walk to the top and to the bottom of the city with Adlib Tours, “Top to Bottom Tour”, a unique and exciting history tour of Jacksonville’s core.  The tour departs from the Jacksonville Landing every Tuesday and Thursday at 10:00 a.m.

Hop on the JTA Skyway and explore the urban core to the heart of Downtown where you will find the Museum of Contemporary Art Jacksonville. Better known as MOCA,  is one of the largest modern and contemporary art museums in the Southeast. Pssst… If you were wondering, Jacksonville is ranked as a “Top 25 Art Destination in the nation” according to American Style Magazine. If you are traveling during the week, fifteen blocks of Downtown come alive during First Wednesday Art Walk - explore art galleries and performances, and then enjoy dinner or a drink at one of Downtown's hotspots, in need of a few recommendations click here.

Catch a ride on the Jacksonville Water Taxi for a tour of the beautiful St. Johns River, which runs right through the center of Downtown Jacksonville. Tour the Northbank at The Jacksonville Landing, where you will find great dining, shopping and a fabulous view of the river. Special events and live entertainment take place Friday through Sunday on the riverfront main stage surrounding the large water fountain.
