Visit Jacksonville Welcomes Destination Experience and Finance Staff Members

Jacksonville, Fla. (September 1, 2022) – Visit Jacksonville recently welcomed Michelle Metzgar and Michael P. O’Connor to the Destination Experience and Administration teams, respectively.

Michelle Metzgar, Senior Destination Experience Manager
Michelle Metzgar is the Senior Destination Experience Manager where she is responsible for managing the daily operations, training and staffing of Visit Jacksonville’s four Visitor Centers as well as meeting and conference attendee welcome tables.

Metzgar brings 10 years of experience in tourism and hospitality to the position, having worked for the Greater Richmond Convention Center, Philadelphia Zoo and Camelback Lodge and Aquatopia Indoor Waterpark. Metzgar received her Bachelor of Science in Sport and Recreation Management from Temple University.

Michael P. O’Connor, Senior Accounting Manager
Michael P. O’Connor is the Senior Accounting Manager where he is responsible for all financial aspects of Visit Jacksonville. O’Connor brings years of accounting and financial management experience to the position, having worked for notable accounting firms EY and KPMG.

Prior to his new role, he was a Manager of Partner Accounting at Weil, Gotshal & Manges. O’Connor received his MBA in accounting from Seton Hall University and his Bachelor of Finance from Pennsylvania State University.
