What is National Travel and Tourism Week?
National Travel and Tourism Week (NTTW) is a yearly celebration that shines a spotlight on the vital role travel plays in boosting the economy, creating jobs, and enriching communities across the country. Since 1983, the travel industry has united every May to celebrate its powerful impact.
Travel is one of the nation’s strongest economic drivers - supporting 15 million jobs, generating $2.9 trillion in economic activity, and helping fund key public services. Its reach extends into nearly every industry, from dining and shopping to technology, manufacturing, and farming.
When is it celebrated?
National Travel and Tourism Week is celebrated every May. This year that week is May 4–10, 2025.
How does the travel and tourism industry impact Duval County?
Tourism has an annual estimated economic impact of $7.4 billion for the local economy. And on top of that, annually, visitors spend $4.1 billion in direct spending on restaurants, attractions, activities, rental cars, and more. - Friday, May 9 - Jumbo Shrimp Game at VyStar Ballpark 5 pm-7 pm
