Mountain Biking

It's surprising, but true. For a Florida destination, Jacksonville offers incredible mountain biking trails at Kathryn Abbey Hanna Park. The trails’ names say it all; "Grunt," "Misery," and "Tornado Alley" offer a wild adventure through the wooded paths of this oceanfront park. There are also several other beginner trails for novice riders.

Unpaved Nature Trails

Cycle along the miles of nature trails winding through Big and Little Talbot Island. The trails cover forests and coastal vews.

Family-Friendly Paved Bike Paths

Take the whole family out to the Jacksonville-Baldwin Rail-Trail, which offers a 14 mile shaded ride through woodlands and wetlands. You are likely to spot a few local residents including rabbits, hawks, kingfishers, wild turkeys, and deer.

Bicycle Eco-Tours

Enjoy a guided eco-tour via bicycle with Kayak Amelia at Long Island Outfitters. Explore the upland hammocks of Talbot Islands State Parks. Bikers pedal over gently rolling trails on paths shaded by enormous old oak trees. Common wildlife sightings include various song birds, gopher tortoises, and armadillos.
