Meet Visit Jax Insider: Wilson Haynes
I have lived in Jacksonville for 15 years now. I started doing photography almost three years ago and in the past year was able to work on professional jobs varying from portrait…
I’m Kaitlyn :) I was born & raised in the Appalachian mountains. Now, Jacksonville is where I call home with my dog, Reuben! The warmer weather brought me here, but community keeps me here.
Immediately after relocating to Jax, I began to explore. So much so that my new, local friends started calling me for day-trip, restaurant, and brewery recommendations! Naturally, this led to a passion of sharing my journeys & discoveries on social media. I absolutely love how diverse & inclusive Jax is. The city allows me to embrace my love for adventure by day and my taste for craft cider by night. It’s a toss up on whether you’ll catch me sweating at hot yoga, surfing the beaches, rollerblading downtown, or rockin’ out at a concert, but one thing is for certain — I’d love to connect with you!
I love how diverse the city is and how many activities there are to try! Surfing the Beaches. Strolling & cafe sippin’ in San Marco. Shopping the St. John’s Town Center. Browsing the Riverside Arts Market. Exploring concert venues and rooftops Downtown. I wouldn’t dare say, “There’s nothing to do!”
Explore like a local by checking out the smaller neighborhoods such as Murray Hill, 5 Points, & San Marco! There are so many budget-friendly community gatherings in the local scene that will bring out the #duval in you! Silent Disco, Magical Mystery Mic, Songwriters Spotlight, & ASL Meetup are a few of my favorites.
Anyone who has spent time in Jax knows how difficult this question can be! But, it’s the steak taco + Swap Shop margarita at Iguana on Park for me!
