The Jacksonville History Center
Formed on May 3, 1929 with 231 charter members, the mission of the Jacksonville History Center is to strengthen citizenship through public history education. Old St. Luke’s Hospital and the former Florida Casket Company building–two of Jacksonville’s significant historic landmarks–anchor the main campus of the Jacksonville History Center. These spaces invite all to discover and explore the people, places, and events that shaped our city, advancing our mission to strengthen citizenship through public history education.
