Lovelace Park
Lovelace Park, located on Barnes Road in Jacksonville’s Southside, was established in 1974 to honor the legacy of local conservationist Curtis Lovelace. As the head of the Citizens’ Committee of 100, Lovelace was a passionate advocate for environmental preservation and one of the community’s most influential voices for local conservation efforts.
Set among stately pine trees, the park offers a serene setting with picnic facilities, benches, a nature trail, and a playscape. It provides a welcoming space for both active recreation and quiet reflection, inviting visitors to enjoy the beauty and tranquility of the natural surroundings.
