A limited number of golfers will have the opportunity to compete in the Jacksonville Championship Pro-Am on Monday, September 21. An Awards Cookout and Cocktail Party will be held after play by the putting green where World Golf Hall of Fame member and two-time Major Champion Tony Jacklin, who is playing in the Pro-Am along with his son Sean, will share memories from his Greater Jacksonville Open victory at Hidden Hills in 1972.

The Arlington 20/20 Steering Committee, comprised of over 25 faith-based, nonprofit, corporate, and government partners, as well as community residents, is in a unique position to host this festival that will celebrate progress and highlight what makes Arlington a great place to live, work, and play. This signature event will be a valued addition to life in Arlington, contributing to neighbors’ sense of connection and community pride.

Virtual 20/20 Vision Summit: Friday, Sept. 25, 5:30 p.m.
An interactive Town Hall where distinguished panelists will discuss practical strategies for inclusive development and attendees can engage virtually to discuss their ideas and priorities for Arlington’s future. Free to attend and registration is required by Sept. 25. Access information will be provided in advance of the event.

Celebrate Arlington! 5K: Saturday, Sept. 26, 7:30 a.m.
Taking place along the historic streets of Old Arlington and past nearby Norman Studios, the professionally timed 5K will start and end at the new College Park shopping center. A virtual option is also available. Registration is $30 up to and on race day; packet pick-up is available the day prior or on race day. The 5K begins at 7:30 a.m. with an awards ceremony at 8:30 a.m. Following the ceremony at 9:00 a.m., the Arlington Council JAX Chamber will host the College Park Mural ribbon cutting live on the Arlington Council JAX Chamber’s Facebook page.

Virtual Sock Hop & Awards Gala: Saturday, Sept. 26, 6:00 p.m. 
Guests can indulge in a gourmet gala meal from the luxury of their own home and enjoy a live-streamed evening of entertainment, music, dancing, a silent auction, a signature mocktail demonstration and awards honoring distinguished residents and friends of Arlington. Registration is free to attend. A $45 VIP ticket includes a catered dinner, dessert and signature mocktail kit available for pick up before the event, to enjoy with the virtual event at home. Online ticket sales close Sept. 19.

Drive-In Family Picnic: Sunday, Sept. 27, 3:00 p.m. – 6:00 p.m.
Community members are welcome to enjoy free food, music and some socially distanced fun by picking up a free cookout meal, parking, and enjoying music and entertainment from the mainstage. Guests can also take their meals home if preferred. The event will occur in Impact Church’s parking lot at 9501 Arlington Expressway. Registration is required by Sept. 27.

Please join us this October for a unique Taste of the Philippines Pop-Up Dinner with Jax Filipino Chefs on the MOSH Rooftop for a culinary celebration honoring Filipino-American History Month.
This intimate 3-course plated dinner presents a modern take on a Filipino-American menu and includes wine pairings alongside an inspired cocktail. Guests are invited to experience the rich cultural heritage of the Filipino-American community in Jacksonville through featured recipes, shared insight from the chefs who created them, and live musical accompaniments by singer/song writer duo Moonstalker.
Reserved seating will be provided for each pop-up dinner event. Guests will also have the opportunity to tour Agnes Lopez’s exhibition “The Faces to Remember,” a photography project capturing the portraits and stories of  World War II Veteranos.

Jacksonville School for Autism (JSA) is celebrating its 11th Annual “Flounder Pounder” Fishing Tournament to benefit children with autism. Chip and Teresa Davis, parents of a JSA student, began organizing this tournament because of their passion for both their son and the school. To date, Flounder Pounder has raised over $250,000 in the past 8 years and is voted the best tournament in the 904 two years running!
