Boating in Jacksonville gives you the advantage of being able to spend time on the St. Johns River, Intracoastal waterway or offshore in our coastal waters. Many boaters enjoy cruising up and down the St. Johns River - with over 50 miles of river in Jacksonville it gives the opportunity to see so many different sights.
The St. Johns River runs through Downtown Jacksonville and offers a breathtaking view of the city skyline during the day and at night. If you sail North on the river you will pass Exchange Island which is a 34-acre island that sits in the middle of the river under the Mathews Bridge – it’s only accessible via boat. The island has docks, picnic pavilions and hiking trails. If you ride South you'll find yourself in the Riverside Avondale, Ortega and San Marco historic neighborhoods. Enjoy the views of historic riverfront houses and mansions. Head South all the way to Goodbys Creek and dock at Wicked Barley Brewing Company to enjoy delicious food and a beverage before getting back on the water.
Off the coast, boaters enjoy the fishing the jetties or going offshore to our more than 30 reefs. The Intracoastal Waterway offers 40 miles of inland waterways perfect for fishing, boating, and exploring the local wildlife.
