Yanira Cardona
Hola! My name is Yanira Cardona (Ja-Knee-Rah) but I go by Yaya. I'm proudly from Puerto Rico but Duval has been my home since 2004.
Hi, we’re Nat and London, Jacksonville-based content creators who love to travel with our kids, learning and exploring along the way.
Our company is named Off Our Couch® which consists of a blog, newsletter, and YouTube channel focused on affordable family travel. Through our blogs, weekly videos, and monthly newsletters, we aim to share our experiences and provide helpful time and money-saving tips with our fellow budget-conscious travelers. Although, getting Off Our Couch® and traveling to new places is something we love to do, we also love to show off our hometown of Jacksonville, Florida! It’s our pleasure to share our experiences as Jacksonville locals and insiders and list the numerous entertainment and dining options available right here in Jacksonville.
Jacksonville has pretty much everything we could want! We have access to fun activities like TopGolf, Dave and Buster’s and trampoline parks- places we can enjoy with the kids and even for date nights. We love that Jacksonville is big on sports too. Plus, we are close to so many beautiful beaches. The food scene is diverse as well, from food trucks to rooftop restaurants. The number of local restaurants is amazing! Whatever we’re in the mood for, Jacksonville can provide. Finally, we’re a fan of the different breweries around town, and it’s a bonus that they’re also kid-friendly!
We would strongly suggest visiting Sweet Pete’s Candy! It’s not every day you get to walk into a 23,000 square foot candy mansion! For anime fans, particularly Dragon Ball Z fans, Soupa Noodle Bar is a must! And you cannot leave Jacksonville without stepping foot on a beach! Our favorites are Boneyard and Black Rock beaches on Big Talbot Island State Park, Neptune Beach and Kathryn Abbey Hanna Park.
Our list of restaurants to try here in Jacksonville never seems to shrink! We add new ones all the time! LOL From the ones we’ve tried so far, we love Soupa Noodle Bar. The ramen is great and the environment is so laid-back and fun. For seafood, we’re fans of Dockside Seafood, It’s casual and great for families. Lately, we’ve been having lots of fun adding to our favorites list and trying out local restaurants off the beaten path like Enza’s Italian Restaurant, Picasso’s, Bounxou Thai Restaurant, and Margarita’s Mexican Grill. They’re all delicious and we’re looking forward to adding more to our favorites soon!
